A design so much easier to navigate, capacitive touch screens, true HD (1080p) displays, and super-slim profiles that are 0.48-inch thin, these new ultrabooks will join the team with all innovation and design. Let’s take a look at the devices’ specifications. To start, the first in the lineup include the Acer Aspire S7-391-6810 and Acer Aspire S7-391-9886. Both are 13-inch ultrabooks, made with 1,920-by-1,080 resolution displays, offering easy use with 10-finger capacitive touch capability. The former has a battery life of five hours, whereas the latter extends up to six. They both come with extended battery pack, which can increase total battery life to 10 and 12 hours, respectively. Created with style, these ultrabooks have a single-piece design with combined hinge and lid frame, and a white sheet of Gorilla Glass 2 set into the lid that make them look distinctive. Weighing just 2.83 pounds, these devices are lightweight, strong, and slim. Made for daily use, these ultrabooks are created with a dual torque hinge, which tightens once opened. With this hinge, you can also open it flat to 108 degrees for use on table tops. Both of them come equipped with Dolby Home Theater Audio, built-in stereo speakers, two USB 3.0 ports, and micro-HDMI output. There are no VGA or Ethernet ports on the devices. But they do come with adapters for more connectivity. There is a backlight on the keyboards, made to adjust automatically due to the ambient light sensing. There’s also a 128GB solid-state drive, a third-gen Intel Core i5-3317U processor (1.7GHz) and 4GB of RAM in the Acer Aspire S7-391-6810 model. The Acer Aspire S7-391-9886, on the other side, holds a faster (1.9GHz) Intel Core i7-3517U processor, also with 4GB of RAM and will have a storage capacity of 256GB SSD. The third in line is a smaller, 11-inch Acer Aspire S7-191-6640. This device has many features same as 13-inch models. These features include 11.6-inch capacitive touch display, with 10-finger tracking and 1,920-by-1,080 resolution. This model is 0.48-inch in thickness. The difference is of the combined lid and hinge, which here are made of aluminum, with a brushed aluminum lid. Starting with a range of $1,199, the Acer Aspire S7-191-6640 comes equipped with a 128GB solid-state drive, a third-gen Intel Core i5-3317U processor (1.7GHz) and 4GB of RAM. The Acer Aspire S7-391-6810 will cost $1,399, whereas the Acer Aspire S7-391-9886 is expected to cost around $1,700. All three ultrabooks will hit the shelves on Oct. 26, same day when Microsoft launches its Windows 8.
