It is rather bewildering that the tech giant has decided to wipe out the 15-inch Macbook model. What’s more baffling is, the 13-inch Macbook Pro is not being promoted on the website. Website visitors have to scroll all the way down to “other models” and check the model. It seems the entire focus of Apple Inc is on retina display Macbook Pros.  Why is the 13-inch model still around then? Maybe because the device was a hit among high school students and college goers. With the undertaking to do away with optical drives on laptops, it is thinkable that Apple feels students especially need a DVD drive. Anyhow, the laptop is priced at just $100 lesser than the Macbook Air, and does not offer any significant accentuated performance. So, it is not recommended. Also, the brand new 13-inch Macbook Pro with retina display is offered at $100 higher than the last generation Macbook Pro. If ever the DVD drive is required, an external accessory (Apple USB superdrive) can help.
