This survey was conducted on 6.200 mobile shoppers during the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The overall score for the top 25 mobile retailers also improved from 76 during 2011 to 78 in 2012. Also analyzed in the study was the trend of “showrooming” – the practice of shoppers checking out a competitor’s app or website in search of better deals when standing inside a store. 70 percent shoppers went online to check out stores when standing within a store – of these, 62 percent checked out the same store’s app or website, while 37 percent practiced showrooming.
