Apple has been facing some pretty stiff competition in tablet market recently. The Google Nexus 10 has been well received and the Microsoft Surface Pro puts a stamp of intention for the tech giant’s foray into the tablet market. But Apple is gearing up to release the iPad 5 this September and will directly pit it against this tough competition. Going the way of the iPad Mini, the iPad 5 will be slimmer and lighter while not compromising on size or performance. The Surface Pro feels and looks great, quite sturdy and the dark titanium finish is as good as if not better than the iPad’s trademark look. The Nexus looks great but doesn’t feel as up market at the other two. The iPad 5 will ship with a retina screen, meaning great visuals guaranteed. The Surface Pro has 10.6in screen that supports 1920×1080 resolution and 229ppi which is quite impressive, but the Nexus 10 boasts a spectacular 2560×1600 resolution with 299ppi – possibly beating the retina as well! The major difference though is the operating system – the iPad 5 will be shipped with the latest iOS 7; the Nexus 10 uses Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and the Surface Pro uses Windows 8.1 – and this might just be the biggest deal maker or breaker for most people looking to buy a new tablet.
