Nokia is introducing the Lumia 920 in five different shades. These smartphones were uncovered by the Finnish maker last month with main focus on the devices’ Windows operating system. With a plastic body and a spring mounted, 8.7-megapixel camera, the Lumia 920 also features City Lens software. It also has special mapping software included for nearby attractions. Whereas, the Lumia 820 will come only in black color. Both devices run on AT&T’s long-term evolution, or LTE, network. With all its pinned onto the Lumia phones, Nokia hopes to make a comeback in the smartphone market, competing with Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android. Microsoft also hopes to win back market share in smartphone software with its hopes on the success of Lumia devices. Jeff Bradley, Senior Vice President AT&T, said in a statement, “The Lumia 920 will be one of the hottest phones for the holidays.” In a statement by Olivier Puech, President, Nokia America, he says, “Our continued collaboration with AT&T is an important component for Nokia’s success in the U.S. market.” Shares of AT&T jumped by 1 percent to yesterday in New York, while Microsoft added 0.7 percent to $29.86. Nokia climbed 0.9 percent to 2.06 euros today in Helsinki. In August there were reports that the biggest US carrier, Verizon Wireless will also start selling a Nokia Windows Phone 8 model later this year. Outside the US, operators in Italy and Sweden have also announced plans to sell the Lumia 920. In Italy, the smartphone will cost $777 or 599 euros.
