The demand of iPhone 5 exceeded the initial supply, with Apple taking pre-orders for delivery in October. The Cupertino Calif.-based firm also said that around 100 million iOS devices were updated to its latest iOS 6, in just few days after it was launched. The iPhone 5 was launched on September 21st in many countries including the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the UK. It will hit the shelves in 22 more countries on September 28th. These countries include Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. By 2012 end, the iPhone 5 will be available in more than 100 countries. According to the Apple Press Info on the firm’s website, Tim Cook, CEO, Apple says, “Demand for iPhone 5 has been incredible and we are working hard to get an iPhone 5 into the hands of every customer who wants one as quickly as possible.” He said, “While we have sold out of our initial supply, stores continue to receive iPhone 5 shipments regularly and customers can continue to order online and receive an estimated delivery date. We appreciate everyone’s patience and are working hard to build enough iPhone 5s for everyone.” The iPhone 5 is available in the US in different versions including 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB for a price of $199, $299, and $399 respectively via carriers such as Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon.
