At the ongoing Computex trade fair, Acer has taken the veil of secrecy off I Acer Iconia W3 tablet, that has been hyped as the “industry’s first full-featured 8.1-inch tablet running Windows 8, a raft of entertainment and full PC competences. In addition  this 0.45 inches thin compact tablet will come pre-loaded with MS Office 2013 and its 8.1-inch screen. As Acer’s press release claims, “The affluence of one-hand tablet with access to programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote is perfect for professionals, students and families.” “Ushering Iconia W3, Acer is providing the millions of students, consumers and professionals who generate, recite, toil and play in the Windows environment, a single-handed device that does it all,” said Luca Rossi, vice president of CBU, Acer Europe. Furthermore, Acer Iconia W3 has the peculiarity of being the first Windows 8 device to feature an 8.1-inch LED backlit display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution with 2-megapixel primary and secondary cameras. It also features Intel’s dual-core 1.8GHz Atom Z2760 processor and will be accessible in either 32 or 64GB internal storage options, with also an expandable memory further to an additional 32GB via a microSD card. Both the versions of the Iconia W3 are up for pre-order from June 4 from several retailer with retail launch scheduled for end June. According to an Engadget report, “The Iconia W3 will be priced at 329 euros for 32GB and 379 euros for 64GB.”
