The company had earlier launched the miniature version of its premium device, dubbed as the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, which was equipped with same specifications as the Xperia Z1 with a few subtle changes. FCC has authorized the device with the model number Sony SO-04F “Altair”, which appears to be a NTT DoCoMo variant judging by the model number. The upcoming device is expected to be available with a 4.5-inch display, and would be powered by the same Snapdragon 801 chipset. The smartphone is likely to have a 20MP camera and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The company has not yet released any official statement regarding the smartphone, but FCC listing hints that Sony will not take much time in releasing the mini version of Xperia Z2.
