The i20 is available in petrol and diesel variants, and is a curvy and sports an aerodynamic design. This car is fitted with a 1.2 liter 16V Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine with a maximum power of 82.9 bhp at 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 113.8Nm at 4000 rpm. The i20 has a 5-speed manual gearbox and has a fuel efficiency of 13.3 kmpl in the city and 18.5 kmpl on highways. Standard features you can find in the i20 include AC, power steering, power windows and central locking, while the higher versions also have ABS and CD players. Price range: Rs. 4.75 lakh – 7.11 lakh Maruti Suzuki Swift: Without a doubt, this is India’s favorite hatchback, and even after it got a facelift in 2012, it remains to be one of the most popular cars on the road. The Swift has a 1.2 liter 16V K Series petrol engine with a maximum power of 85.8 bhp at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 114Nm at 4000 rpm. No other car manufacturer knows fuel efficiency like Maruti Suzuki, for the Swift is capable of giving a fuel efficiency of 15.2 kmpl in the city and 18.6 kmpl on highways.
