Even though HTC was the first company to produce an Android smartphone, somewhere along the way, it lost out to players like Samsung. With every passing quarter, as new entrants arrive in the market with their Android smartphones, it’s only going to get tougher for this Taiwanese company to rise above the many competitors. But, we’re hoping that the M7 could be the perfect way to propel it forward. With spectacular features like a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM, this device could find quite a few takers. And even though it has only a 4.7-inch display, it may find enough buyers who need something more compact than the 5-inch giants like the Xperia Z. But it’s not just enough to make an amazing phone – HTC never had a problem with that. Even the HTC One X was a fabulous phone, which is similar in size to the upcoming M7, but less powerful with its 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. To be able to sell more, we think HTC definitely needs to focus its energy on having an aggressive marketing campaign for its upcoming flagship to get noticed. It needs to shake off its apprehensions from its sinking performance and renew its confidence when launching the new M7. Also, instead of introducing so many models that end up confusing the consumer (Sony, are you also listening?), give it a solid recognizable name, a la Samsung. This will help consumers remember your handsets and hopefully pick them over those of your competitors.
