Increasing the production capacity comes as a ray of hope for HTC, which faced low sales due to the delay in the launch of its flagship the One phone in different markets. HTC is looking forward to double the production capacity, starting this month from April. As per reported in Focus Taiwan, the production capacity for HTC One is increasing on a month-to-month basis as the firm improves its component supply chain issues. “Manufacturing volume will double in May from the previous month and will rise further in June to meet “strong demand”,” said Jack Tong, President, HTC North Asia. He further said, “Our capacity is expected to rise significantly starting from mid-May. We are optimistic about our high-end sales during April and June.” Earlier, Benjamin Ho, CMO, HTC said that the launch of HTC One was delayed owing to the lack in the camera component that’s used to build the device. Benjamin said since the camera was designed specifically for HTC, production cannot be increased so soon.
