Anaylst Paul Semenza of Display search told CNET that, “”We’re seeing potential in the third quarter of panel production for a higher-resolution iPad Mini”. “When would the Mini be available? Could be third quarter or fourth quarter,” he said, adding that the speculation is Display Search’s best guess based on supply chain data.

For long time it is being heard that iPad Mini with a better retina display and iPad Mini 2 both would be seen in the third quarter. According to Semenza , the iPad Mini display should ideally have pixel density of  2048 X 1536. LG Display, Sharp and AUO Japan are being considered as possibilities for the procurement of display by Apple. But before we see a new iPad Mini, an updated Nexus 7 from Google may arrive, at least according to indications from Asia-based parts suppliers, Semenza said. Google Nexus 7 may come with  a display of 1920 X 1200 in HD+ format. The current version of the tablet has pixel density of 1280X 800.
