Startup application developer Madefire has launched a new iPhone app that offers digital comic books for some fantastic storytelling. This is an iPhone as well as iTouch app that includes free comics from some top-notch creators. Madefire has some notable investors and advisers in its kitty and it produces a free software platform for comics. With the help of this software, writers and illustrators are able to narrate stories that unfold through layers of art, word balloons, and captions. Images of the comics fill up the page as you read the text. Apart from adding illustrations and text, this software also allows one to incorporate sound effects and images that move using an accelerometer. The company had initially launched an iPad app with some a original digital comics that were created by Madefire. Madefire’s format offers episodic but ‘short-burst’ comics to provide 10-15 minutes of reading. It uses a mix of sound, music, motion and special effects. “We received a tremendous response for Madefire on iPad and wanted to bring this amazing content to millions of iPhone or iPod touch users around the world,” said Madefire co-founder Ben Wolstenholme.
