Motorola aims to repeat the success of Moto G with its much cheaper alternative Moto E, which has an absolute goal of dismissing feature phones once and for all. Moto G gained enough success worldwide, especially in India, and it is often being referred to as the best budget smartphone. Motorola is available at a price of USD129 unlocked and contract free, and operates on Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The smartphone is equipped with a 4.3-inch screen with a pixel resolution of 960 x 540 and sports a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor under the hood, clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. The Moto E features a 5MP camera with no flash, but it does not have any front-facing shooter. The handset provides only 4GB of internal storage capacity, but is fitted with a microSD card slot for additional storage. Also, the smartphone does not have any LTE capabilities. The company has been quoted saying on its blog post on May 13 that “We’re pushing the boundaries of the value equation even further with Moto E, a new class of smartphone that’s fully loaded and fairly priced – a perfect combination for savvy shoppers and first-time smartphone buyers. Because smartphones haven’t always come at smart prices and we believe that people shouldn’t have to compromise on quality, style or experience.” The new Moto E is scheduled to be launched in more than 40 countries worldwide through more than 80 partners in the period of the next few weeks.
