Nokia Lumia 820: The Lumia 820 is a more affordable Windows Phone 8 based smartphone. It has a 4.3-inch display with a 217 ppi resolution, which is a lot less than the other two contenders, but does a decent job in reproducing images nevertheless. Powered by a 1.5 GHz Snaprdragon processor and 1 GB of RAM, the Lumia 820 is also equally powered to run the OS smoothly. The internal storage in the Lumia 820 is just 8 GB, but Nokia has been considerate to include a microSD card slot on this device. A 1650 mAh battery does sound a little on the lower side, but we’re expecting it to run on a single charge for a whole day at least. Nokia Lumia 920: This is the flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone from Nokia and boy, are we in love with it! And not just for its ultra-sleek form factor and quirky colors, but also because of what lies beneath. With a 4.5-inch full HD display, the Lumia 920’s screen with a 332 ppi resolution is an absolute beauty. Add to that the 8 MP rear camera with Nokia’s PureView technology, and you can be assured of turning into a huge shutterbug with this phone. Powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and 1 GB of RAM, Windows Phone 8 works almost fluidic on the Lumia 920. The 2000 mAh battery keeps it up and running for well over a day, even with heavy usage. Our only grouse with the phone – the limited 32 GB internal storage with no microSD card for memory expansion. Apple iPhone 5: Apple’s latest iPhone is unsurprisingly thinner, faster, and more powerful than the iPhone 4S. However, we do wish it came with a bigger screen than the same old 4-inch feature. With a 326 ppi resolution, the Lumia 920 does win more points than the iPhone 5 in terms of display quality. Powered by the Apple A6 dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM, there’s no doubt that iOS6 works like a dream on this phone. Its 8 MP camera is of course one of the best that you can find on a smartphone – especially with its HDR and 360-degree panorama modes. Oh, and before we forget, if you’ve been vying for either of the Lumia smartphones, they’re releasing in the Indian market on 11th January.  Nokia Lumia 920 may have a price point of Rs 35000-40000, while Lumis 820 may be priced around Rs 20000. So, get ready to do some smartphone shopping soon.
