Nokia X and its siblings the Nokia X+ and Nokia XL were in the news since their launch as they were released as the Android-operated phones. Their features and specifications were disappointing but that did not stop Nokia X from topping the charts. in developing countries as per Tech Radar reports. Saulo Passos, Head of Communications, Mobile Phones at Microsoft Devices Group, has been quoted saying that “Nokia X is getting a tremendous consumer response. In Russia, for example, it is the number one smartphone according to GfK market research firm. The phone also enjoys that position in Pakistan. We are seeing great momentum also coming from China, Indonesia and Brazil,” as per the Website. The main reason behind its popularity is that the phone was available at cheap prices, and since the beginning it was targeted for developing countries. Nokia X is equipped with a 4-inch WVGA IPS LED touch screen and runs on Android’s Jellybean operating system. It has a dual SIM feature, dual core 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 3MP rear camera and memory expandable up to 32GB. However, now the buzz is that Microsoft has decided to discontinue the whole Nokia X range. The recent reports suggest that in-spite of being understood as the hottest selling budget android smartphone, it has been discontinued .
