Rating: 2.5  Dell has decided to launch an android tablet with the aim of diversifying its market after a major decline recorded in the PC industry. With the Dell Venue 8, the PC maker has yet again given a shot to make a dent in the tablets market after majorly focusing on Windows-based ultrabooks, hybrids and all-in-one desktops over the last few years. Dell Venue 8 Features Dell Venue 8 features a plain glass front face with no button markings and no branding. The glass is further covered with a tiny raised rubber ring to safeguard the screen. Meanwhile, the back and sides of the tablet have a single plastic shell, which are manufactured by a soft-touch rubberised plastic. The tablet is equipped with a pair of Intel chips based on the competing X86 architecture. Dell Venue 8 is powered by an Atom Z2580, which runs at 2GHz. The CPU would feature two physical cores, hyper-threading, integrated SGX 544MP2 graphics and 1080p video acceleration. The Dell Venue 8 also boasts an 8-inch screen featuring 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. The tablet has an expandable memory of 128 GB and will have Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. This tablet offers good picture quality with a 5-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixel front shooter. The Dell Venue 8 runs on Android 4.2.2, and it’s available with two customised applications, PocketCloud and PocketCloud Explore. It comes with 4100mAh battery that lasted for 406 minutes in video loop test. It records video at 720p.  Advantages: Some of the biggest highlights of this tablet are its good looks and construction. Disadvantages: The Dell Venue 8 does have some cons such as its glossy display that’s discomforting. The performance on use also turns out to be average. Price: The Dell Venue 8 will cost you an approx. USD 180 this time around.
