The hardware: Samsung has put in a quad-core 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor and 2 GB of RAM into the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. It’s also got 16 GB of internal storage space and a microSD card slot to add another 32 GB of space. The Sony Xperia Z tablet is slightly more powerful with its quad-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and 2 GB of RAM. In terms of internal storage, it’s also got 16 GB but the microSD card slot can support up to 64 GB of extra space. Both these devices come with Android 4.12. Jelly Bean, but the Galaxy Note 10.1 has an overlay of TouchWiz UI which makes the Android experience much smoother. Screen: Both these tablets have a 10.1-inch display, but in terms of resolution, the Xperia Z tablet wins hands down, thanks to its 1920X1200 pixel resolution and 224 ppi. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 10.1 has a resolution of just 1280X800 pixels and a ppi count of 149. Camera: There’s really no comparison here – while the Galaxy Note 10.1 has just a 5 MP camera, the Xperia Z tablet is fitted with an 8.1 MP camera with advanced features like image stabilization, panorama, smile detecting capabilities, and numerous effects.
