The news was confirmed by JK Shin, the chief of Samsung’s mobile division, who revealed that the firm will officially unveil a mini 4-inch version of the Galaxy S III, today on October 11th in Germany. As per the speculations, the Galaxy S III Mini will boast a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with WVGA resolution, a 5-megapixel camera, 1-GHz dual-core STE U8420 processor, and will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google’s latest operating system. Believed to be in direct competition to Apple’s iPhone 5, this 4-inch Galaxy S III will come equipped with a resolution of 800-by-480 pixels. There were some photos and specs of the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini leaked on the Web. The device comes packed in a smaller plastic body measuring 121.55 x 62.95 x 9.85 mm. The Galaxy S III Mini will include 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD. It will also support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, HSPA, NFC for mobile payments and Android Beam, and a 1,500 mAh battery. The device is expected to be priced at 399 euros ($513), though the official price would be announced at the conference.
