The company announced the smartphone February 2014 during the Mobile World Congress 2014, and is now all set to launch the smartphone commercially. The smartphone has been up for pre-order since March 2014, and it has now officially hit store shelves. UK retailer Unlocked Mobiles is offering the mid-range Sony Xperia Z2 at a price of £224.98, including taxes. The consumer will get the smartphone unlocked, and will not be bound by a lengthy carrier agreement. The retailer is also offering £50 worth of free content with the smartphone. On the other hand, EE is offering the Sony Xperia M2 in the UK with a price tag of £19.99 upfront on a two-year service agreement, along with a 4G plan that costs £18.99 per month and comes with 500MB of data. EE is also offering the Xperia M2 for free with a plan starting at £23.99 per month. The Sony Xperia M2 is available with a  screen size of 4.8-inch along with a qHD resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, and will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood, clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone will be having an internal storage capacity of 8GB, as well as a microSD card slot for additional memory. It will boast an 8MPl rear camera with LED flash and auto focus. Additionally, its battery will be 2,300mAh. The Sony Xperia M2 will operate on the slightly older Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
