Even as the likes of Sony Xperia Z, Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, Microsoft Surface Pro fight it out to pull down the iPad, according to BlackBerry, tablets may not even be required a few years down the line. In a statement made by the company’s CEO, Thorsten Heins, to Bloomberg News, he mentioned that there could be need for larger screens in the workplace but tablets don’t make business sense. Even as BlackBerry is trying hard to sell its latest Q10 and Z10 smartphones, there are rumors that the company could bring out a new tablet in the market. Of course, it has to offer something unique to pull the crowd away from its competition like the upcoming iPad 5 or even the Microsoft Surface Pro and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. The CEO remains optimistic that BlackBerry could emerge as the leader in mobile computing within 5 years through its strategy of bringing out something new instead of following its competitors. His long term goal includes replacing laptops and tablets with smartphones.
