Cook further wrote, “I hope that today everyone will reflect on his extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place.” Apple is the great gift Job gave to the world, wrote Cook. “No other company has ever inspired such creativity or set such high standards for itself,” he said. Saying that Job will always be the spirit of Apple, Cook wrote, “Our value originated from Steve and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We share the great privilege and responsibility of carrying his legacy into the future.” The short video clip has a slideshow of Jobs photos, from the early days of Apple in the 70s to his more recent shots. The background score has voice of Jobs discussing some of his favorite philosophies and introducing some of Apple’s most popular products. The voiceover says, “There’s an old Wayne Gretzky quote that I love: I skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been. And we’ve always tried to do that at Apple.” The video then shows Steve Jobs launching the iMac, the iPod, and the iPhone. Just before “Remembering Steve” flashes in the screen, Jobs is heard saying, “It’s in Apple’s DNA that technology alone is not enough. It’s technology married with liberal arts, married with humanities, that yields us the result that makes our heart sing.”
