We thought the rumor mills would relax a bit now that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is just a short wait, but nope, here’s more dope on the upcoming flagship by the world’s leading smartphone maker. Just when we thought we’d heard all there was about the phone comes the latest rumor that Samsung could feature the floating touch technology on its brand new phone. This means you can access stuff on your phone without making physical contact with the screen – sensors in the screen will detect your finger by the electrical field created. It’s kind of like the Air View used in the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, where you can open an e-mail by letting the S-Pen hover over the notification icon. Another phone which has a similar feature is Sony’s Xperia Sola. We’ve also heard that the Galaxy S4’s screen could use phosphorescent materials for the red and green LEDs and fluorescent blue OLEDs, rather than using green and blue flourescent OLEDs and just red phosphorescent OLEDs. This Green PHOLED screen has a 25 percent higher power efficiency than a regular AMOLED screen, giving the phone a better battery life. Another speculation is that Samsung could launch two Galaxy S4 models – one with an LCD display and a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor and another with an AMOLED screen and a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor. Whether both these models will sell in the same regions is also not known. But we do know that the Galaxy S4 will run on Android 4.2.1 when released and users will be able to upgrade to Android 4.2.2 shortly after.
