Bad weather on the US East Coast couldn’t keep Google from announcing good news to all its millions of fans worldwide. Even though the launch event to be held at New York was cancelled, Google did finally announce three new exciting Nexus devices – two tablets and a smartphone. What’s even more exciting is that all of these devices will run on Android’s latest version, 4.2. One of the most interesting features of Android 4.2 is the “photo sphere” that lets users take 360-degree images as well as Gesture Typing, Google’s answer to Swype for its Android devices. Even though the version number has changed, Google chooses to retain the name Jelly Bean for Android 4.2 as well, indicating that it probably doesn’t have too many changes from the previous version. The LG Nexus 4 smartphone, as rumored, features a 4.7-inch display, an 8MP rear camera, and yes, will have Photo Sphere capabilities. The unlocked versions of the device are priced at $299 for the 8GB model and $349 for the 16GB one. With a two-year contract, this phone is available on T-Mobile for just $199 starting November 14. The Asus Nexus 7 tablet has received an upgraded memory, but the price remains the same. The 16GB model costs $199, while the 32GB model costs $249. Also on offer is a cellular version of the 32GB Nexus 7 with 3G connectivity, available for $299 for the unlocked version. And now, on to the most exciting device that was launched – the Samsung Nexus 10. Yes, it does have an HD screen with much higher resolution that even the iPad and one of the coolest features is that you can easily switch between multiple user profiles on the tablet. Available from November 13, the 16GB model will set you back by $399, while the 32GB model comes with a price tag of $499. This couldn’t be better timed, given that Apple just launched the iPad Mini and Microsoft brought out the Surface tablet. Google has also announced a “scan and match” feature on Google Music, so that users don’t have to worry about manually uploading their music into the cloud. This new upgrade will be available in Europe soon, and then also be available to the US customers. And the best part about it – it’s free!
