iPhone 5S: Apple fans, don’t be disheartened. 2013 would not see the launch of the iPhone 6, but you can expect the iPhone 5S to come out. It may not be a giant leap away from the iPhone 5, but you can hope for a better screen, a faster A6X processor, a breathtaking 15 MP camera, and better battery life. So the whole iOS experience only promises to get better in 2013. Samsung Galaxy SIV: As we talk about Apple, could its archrival be forgotten? The makers of one of the bestselling smartphones of 2012 take a step forward next year with their next offering, the Galaxy SIV. This phone is expected to be the best Android phone you can ever imagine – sporting a 4.7-inch wraparound screen with a gigantic 440 ppi resolution, a more powerful processor, and new color options for the body. Nokia Lumia 940: Buoyed by the relative success of Windows Phone 8, the Finnish phone maker can expect a partial resurrection of sorts. You can expect the company’s upcoming flagship phone running Windows Phone 8.5 to hit the markets sometime in 2013 with a massive 35 MP camera with Nokia’s PureView technology, a much better processor, and three bold new colors. The Facebook Phone: Yes, we’d heard rumors about it early in the year, and we can finally hope to see it in 2013. It’s being designed by HTC and should feature an HD screen, a dual-core processor, and promises to make Facebook more automatic. The phone, which would run on a highly modified version of Android Gingerbread may sound rather antiquated in the age of Android Jelly Bean and beyond, but should make Facebook-ing so much more fun. Oh, and it’s blue in color! Microsoft Surface Phone: We’re not entirely sure of the entire scope of this nifty device being brought out by Microsoft. According to the company, the Surface Phone would be able to run a full version of both Windows 8 as well as Windows Phone 8. The phone would be able to let users switch from one OS to the other and plug it into a tablet-sized screen for mor heavy-duty work at your desk. Microsoft Office will continue to remain a suitable reason for this device capturing attention. BlackBerry 10 Aristo: The future of RIM remains completely balanced on their upcoming upgraded OS – the BlackBerry 10. And the first of the full touch BlackBerry smartphone, the Aristo, can soon be expected as well. Powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM, it will have a 4.65-inch OLED display, an 8 MP camera, and a 2800 mAh battery. Power users, are you swooning yet? Sony Nexus: Now we’re not really sure if the rumors we hear about this particular piece are actually true. It’s expected to be the coolest smartphone to hit the shelves and would run on Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie with a full HD display, a 1.6 GHz processor, at least 2 GB of RAM and 16/32 GB of internal storage. Sony Xperia Odin: Sony’s re-focusing their energies into creating smartphones once more, and 2013 sure seems like the year for Sony. The company is expected to launch the Odin, a 5-inch phablet running on Android Jelly Bean, powered by a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. Looks like the Galaxy Note II will finally have some quality competition from this device. Oh, and it would have a 13 MP camera. Sony Xperia Yuga: Yet another smartphone in the Sony Xperia lineup is the Yuga. We’re not really sure why, but this phone does sound quite similar to the Odin in specs. With a 5-inch HD display, 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 2400 mAh battery, its USP is probably going to be its feature of being dust and water resistant. HTC EVO 3D: 2013 is expected to make 3D technology available right in the palm of your hands. The HTC EVO 3D would let users capture 3D images and video using their phones and also view this 3D content right on its screen, without the need to use 3D glasses. We surely think this one will be quite an exciting piece of technology.
