Apple always manages to stay in the limelight with its new products and devices. Following the launch of its iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, the latest buzz in the rumor mill goes around its forthcoming iPhone 6, which the firm plans to unveil in 2014. If speculations are to be believed, the Cupertino Calif.-based firm might roll out the iPhone 6 with its patented solar technology, which the firm acquired in February 2013. An integrated touch sensor with solar panel, this technology lets Apple pile touch sensors above the solar cell layers. The electrodes in this built-in panel can be used to gather solar energy and for sensing on a touch sensor display. In case the buzz turns out to be true, this integration to the patent will set aside surface area on the iPhone 6. However, Apple has time to check the viability of this technology on the device since it has lined the iPhone 6 for a 2014 release. The iPhone 6 is also expected to feature Touch ID joined with NFC for secure payments. Along with the A7 chip, the device might boast 2GB of RAM with iOS7 for fast and improved performance. It is speculated that along with solar technology, Apple might sport a bigger screen on the device. Another rumor of Apple on a lookout for engineers, experienced in thin film deposition technology and solar business adds up to the speculation.
