Large touchscreen and innovative features set both the devices apart. Almost alike in looks, both the devices are made of glossy plastic, distinguished with curved corners and a silvery trim around the sides. A little smaller than the Mega 5.8, the Note II at 5.5-inch is easier to carry and use. The Super AMOLED 720 x 1280 pixels 256 ppi display of the Note II gives it more clarity and better display as compared to the Mega, which stands at 540 x 960 pixels 190 ppi. However, the latter is also more usable under broad daylight than the former. The recent OS version- Android 4.2.2 interface gives the Mega 5.8 an advantage over the Note II, which has Android 4.1.2. Samsung’s TouchWiz custom UI in both the devices offer users features including Smart Stay, S Voice and Multi Window. However, the Note II gets a ball in its court with the handy S Pen stylus that makes taking notes much easier on the device. Both have 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash with 1080p video mode. Call clarity is better in the Note II as it has better-sounding earpiece. There’s a massive, 2600mAh battery in the Mega 5.8, whereas the cell in the Note II has a capacity of 3100mAh.
