Don’t blame us for getting the name wrong – after HTC’s CEO Peter Chou talking about the M7 at the company’s year-end party, we couldn’t help but think that that’s what HTC was planning to call its flagship smartphone. And so we and everyone else kept talking about the M7, its features, rumored release date, et al. But according to the latest update from @evleaks, the HTC flagship phone will actually be called HTC One. And well, we can’t help but believe this information, because they’ve been pretty right about a lot of other such leaks. The HTC One is rumored to be launching at a press event on February 19, 2013. What makes this phone interesting is its 4.7-inch full HD screen with a resolution of 468 ppi – the highest so far. The One is expected to be powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM. But, will the name drag the company down again? For starters, its previous One X and One X+ didn’t exactly set the cash registers ringing for HTC. Then why does the company still want to hang on to the One tag? Will the name mar the phone’s performance in the market, or will it still be a runaway success, as HTC is rooting for it to be?
