Mike Troiano, vice president for advanced mobility solutions at AT&T business solutions has dedicated the new Enhanced Push-to-Talk (EPTT) service to the engineering, manufacturing, construction, hospitality and government organizations for their constant need of instant communications which was previously designed for AT&T’s speedy 4G LTE networks. The EPTT is designed for internal corporate use and hence, can be perceived via Wi-Fi networks limiting its usage via cellular networks. All companies arrange for Wi-Fi networks within their workable area and users can very well communicate through the same and not through their cellular network. IDC analyst John Weber has compared the AT&T’s EPTT service to mobile voice services where Wi-Fi functionality plays an important role in this service. The latest move by AT&T should encourage more Sprint customers to sign up for EPTT enabled iPhone 5 or it will stick to its Direct Connect offering which is going to retire by the end of June. Sprint finds it difficult to convince user to switch over than to move to Verizon.
